To solve, we must convert 2 miles to kilometers. We are given that 1 kilometer = 0.6 mile. Thus, we can convert 2 miles to kilometers.
2 miles x (1 kilometer)/(0.6 mile)
Notice that we put the unit “mile” in the denominator of our unit conversion ratio so that it will cancel out with “miles” in the numerator, and we will be left with kilometers.
2/0.6 kilometers
We can multiply the entire fraction by 10/10 to get rid of the decimal and we are left with:
20/6 = 10/3 kilometers
