How to Reschedule Your GMAT Exam in 8 Easy Steps
Rescheduling your GMAT is pretty easy. This process should take you no longer than 10 minutes. You can follow these 8 steps to reschedule your GMAT:
- Log into your mba.com account
- Select the GMAT exam you wish to reschedule
- Choose a new GMAT appointment date
- Agree to GMAC’s policies
- Review your new GMAT appointment and confirm contact information

Rescheduling the GMAT: Step by Step
Rescheduling your GMAT exam can be accomplished from your mba.com account. Just be sure to have your username and password available before logging in. Also, be sure to have a credit card or debit card available since there is a fee for rescheduling your GMAT.
Step 1 – Log into your mba.com account
First, log in to your mba.com account. Of course, you will need to have your username and password ready.
Step 2 – Select the GMAT exam you wish to reschedule
After logging in, go to the “My Account” section. Under the “exams” section, search for the GMAT exam appointment that you’d like to reschedule. Be careful here — there will be two options, RESCHEDULE or CANCEL, both of which are in green. Click on “RESCHEDULE.”
Step 3 – Choose a new GMAT appointment date
Once you’ve clicked “RESCHEDULE,” you’ll be taken to the “Find an Appointment” page. If you’d like to take the GMAT at a different location, select “Change Test Centers.”
If you’re keeping the same location, choose a new GMAT appointment date and time. Once you’ve done so, you’ll be taken automatically to the next page.
Step 4 – Agree to GMAC’s policies
Before you proceed, you’ll need to agree to GMAC’s policies. If you agree, click on the “AGREE” button on the lower right hand side of the screen.
Step 5 – Review your new GMAT appointment and confirm contact information
Once you’ve chosen a new GMAT appointment date, you will verify that the location, date, and time displayed are correct. If everything looks good, click the “COMPLETE RESCHEDULE” button on the bottom right of the screen.
STEP 6 – Confirm Your Billing Information
In this step, you’ll confirm or re-enter your billing information. Once you’ve confirmed that your billing info is correct, click the “NEXT” button.
Step 7 – Confirm your reschedule date and location
In this step, you can do a final check to confirm that your reschedule date and location are correct. If everything looks good, you can click “next” to go to the final payment page.
Step 8 – Pay for your rescheduled GMAT
In this final step, you’ll enter your credit card information, including credit card number, expiration date, CV code, and full name, and then click on “submit payment.” Once this step is complete, you will have successfully rescheduled your GMAT!
How to Cancel Your GMAT Exam Appointment
You can cancel your GMAT appointment in 3 easy steps:

If you’d like to cancel your GMAT appointment, you can do so at mba.com.
Step 2 – Select the GMAT exam you wish to cancel
Once you’re logged into your account, go to the “My Account” section. From the “Exams’ section, search for the GMAT exam appointment that you’d like to cancel. You’ll see two options in green: RESCHEDULE and CANCEL. Click on CANCEL.
Step 3 – Cancel your GMAT appointment
On the Cancel Appointment page, select “confirm cancellation” in the lower right hand corner of the screen. Once you hit confirm, your exam appointment will be canceled!
How Much Does It Cost to Reschedule a GMAT Exam?
When you register to take the GMAT in the United States, you’ll pay either $275 at a test center or $300 for the online exam). The amount you’ll pay to reschedule your GMAT exam will depend on how many days before the exam you reschedule.
The GMAT uses a 3-tier fee system for rescheduling:
- More than 60 days prior to the exam –> your rescheduling fee is $55 (test center appointment) or $60 (online appointment)
- 15-60 days prior to the exam –> your rescheduling fee is $110 (test center appointment) or $120 (online appointment)
- 14 or fewer days prior to the exam –> your rescheduling fee is $165 (test center appointment) or $180 (online appointment)
How Much Does It Cost to Cancel a GMAT Exam?
GMAC also uses a 3-tier fee system to determine how much it will cost to reschedule your GMAT appointment.
If you cancel your GMAT appointment:
- More than 60 days before your exam –> your refund is $110 (test center) or $120 (online)
- 15-60 days before your exam –> your refund is $80 (test center) or $90 (ONLINE)
- 14 or fewer days prior to your exam –> your refund is $55 (test center) or $60 (online)

GMAC does not allow you to change the GMAT exam date, time, or location within 24 hours of your scheduled GMAT appointment. In addition, GMAC does not allow you to cancel your GMAT appointment within 24 hours or less of your scheduled GMAT date.
What happens if I miss my GMAT appointment?
If you miIf you miss your scheduled GMAT appointment, nothing bad happens. If you don’t show up for your appointment, your mba.com account will show that date as a no-show. But don’t worry; no-shows will not appear on your GMAT score reports that are sent to business schools. After your missed appointment, you may schedule a new GMAT appointment without having to wait 16 calendar days.
However, keep in mind that you won’t get a refund for the no-show appointment.
